How is it June! How are we basically halfway through the year?! I can't believe it.
In May, I was definitely still feeling slumpy in general with little motivation to read or do any of my to-do's or creative work... but I still got through some good books (a lot more then it felt like!) and I'm hoping the rest of June and this summer will totally turn around for me!

Well. I was hoping I would’ve started book 3 in the Ember in the Ashes series by now (Reaper at the Gates) buuuttt I haven’t 🤪
I’m loving this series so much though and it’s one I hope to finish this year! It's also the last new series I started.

I am so glad I reread this before continuing on with the series! The audiobook really brought the story to life.
This world is brutal, harsh, sharp and cruel, but the story is already beautiful and epic.

I really enjoyed this second installment! The pace was perfect. The angst was foreboding, heart-swelling, and gut-wrenching. The twists were shocking and unexpected. And I loved the addition of Helene's point of view!

Hades x Persephone Series - Hades Saga Book 2
RATING: ★★★★
A Game of Retribution is book 2 in the Hades Saga of the Hades x Persephone (aka A Touch of Darkness) series!
It follows Hades' POV through the events of A Touch of Ruin which is from Persephone's perspective and one of my favorites of the series.
We get to learn all about what the mysterious and broody Hades was up to when he wasn't with Persephone which was quite a lot!
Overall, I really enjoyed it. It felt just right being back in this world and learning more about the God of the Dead. There's so much more to him than meets the eye!
And I love Scarlett's writing. Get ready for all the heartfelt moments and heat, too!

I can't tell you how happy and content I was being back in the Savoie Sister's world!
Livvy and Gareth's story did not disappoint. I loveddd learning more about Grims! It's safe to say I am beyond fascinated by them.
And while being a little edgier and darker than the previous Savoie tales, my heart was still fit to burst throughout the majority of this story. It was moving and heartfelt and beautiful despite those more sinister undertones.
And now I need Henry and Clara's story!!

I ADORED THIS. I'm completely obsessed. It was the most perfect book I have ever read.
Alex + Poppy = OTP!
A friends to lovers romance with dual timelines and summer vacay vibes.
This book spoke to the deepest levels of my soul and made me feel, why yes, all warm and buttery and cozy and perfect.
Definitely my favorite by Emily so far and a top favorite of the year, hands down!

The No-Show
RATING: ★★★★
OH MY GOSH. I honestly did not know what to make of this story at first, but I'm so glad I finished it!
I was equal parts intrigued and utterly perplexed for about the first 150ish pages or so. And while not your typical romance and definitely not a rom-com, this story was still so heartwarming, raw and just incredibly beautiful.
I can already tell I'll be thinking about this one for months to come.

This was so, so cute!!
It was a sweet and swoony, friends to enemies to lovers YA romance with childhood best friends and a cross-country family road trip and first love.
I tabbed so. many. things. and finished it in 24 hours.
There's art and family time and quirky, nerdy things and always being yourself.
It was easy-reading and light-hearted and beautiful. The perfect summer romance!
